Tips

If you’re not sure how to start your nomination read our 'How To Write Compelling Award Nominations' article for tips on crafting a strong nomination to maximise your chance of impressing any judging committee.

Stage 1 - NOMINATIONS

Eligibility:

In addition to the award specific eligibility nominees must;

  • Be a financial DTC member.
  • Only include achievements relevant to the timeframe as specified within each award category.
  • Submit the online nomination form before the closing date outlined above. The DTC reserves the right to refuse any nominations submitted after this date.
  • Not exceed 500 words per question. If successfully shortlisted, nominees may have the opportunity to provide additional information during an interview with the judging panel.

Stage 2 - SHORTLISTING OF NOMINEES

All nominations will be assessed by a judging panel selected by the DTC. The judges are sourced from a cross-section of defence industry organisations, selected for their industry experience and understanding of operating a business in the defence sector.

Judges will shortlist three (3) nominees in each of the three (3) categories based on:

  • the responses provided on the nomination form,
  • additional supporting information obtained by the judges through the public domain.

Stage 3 - CONFIRMATION OF FINALISTS

All entrants will be notified via email of the outcome of the shortlisting process, with finalists confirmed of the decision via phone.

Stage 4 - FINALISTS INTERVIEW

Finalists may be required to participate in a telephone interview with the judging panel to assist with the selection of a winner. Finalists will be scored against a criteria as set out by the objectives of the award with the highest combined judge’s score determining the winner.

Stage 5 - FILMING

The three (3) finalists from each award category will be invited to participate in a promotional video. This video will be played at the DTC’s Defence Industry Dinner & Awards Ceremony and posted on the DTC website after the event. Finalists are also encouraged to use the video for promotional purposes within their organisation after the award ceremony.

Adelaide Film Works will carry out the filming and editing of the finalists’ videos. The videos will comprise of footage of the finalist’s facilities, and interview content. Adelaide Film Works crew will spend 1-2 hours filming various scenarios and fly-on-the-wall type imagery at all finalist’s facilities. Adelaide Film Works will contact finalists directly to discuss the filming possibilities and organise a timeslot within the week listed above.

Note: Due to the expected large sizes of teams for the Teaming Award, we are unable to guarantee filming of all companies within the teams. Please note filming preference will be given to DTC members. We may not be able to film non-members or all facilities of large teams.

Stage 6 - AWARDS CEREMONY

The winners in each category will be announced at the Defence Teaming Centre’s Defence Industry Dinner & Awards Ceremony, in Adelaide, South Australia. All finalists will be acknowledged, and their video shown. Winners will also be published in DTC’s newsletter, magazine and online. Finalists are required to purchase at least one ticket to the ceremony in order to accept the award should they be successful.
