The Defence Teaming Centre is Proud to Partner with Tech Council of Australia on the National Security Technology Alliance (NSTA)

The Defence Teaming Centre (DTC) was proud to represent the defence sector at the recent Tech Council of Australia (TCA) Showcase, where our CEO Libby Day led a high-profile panel alongside the Co-Chairs of the National Security Technology Alliance (NSTA).

The event brought together industry leaders, policymakers, and national security stakeholders to spotlight the role of emerging technologies in strengthening Australia's national resilience. As part of the program, Libby facilitated a timely discussion on how industry, government, and technology innovators can collaborate more effectively to build sovereign capability and deliver future-ready solutions.

It was a big day at Parliament House for the fourth Parliamentary Innovation Showcase hosted by the Tech Council of Australia (TCA).

With 53 companies exhibiting cutting-edge technologies and ideas, the Showcase offered a powerful platform for startups, multinationals, and national security innovators to connect with policymakers, industry leaders, and the broader tech community.

Key highlights:

  • 55% of exhibitors were Australian-founded
  • 45 were TCA members
  • 33 were first-time exhibitors bringing fresh solutions to national challenges

This year’s event was the biggest yet, with over 1,000 registered attendees and participation from 80+ parliamentarians and government offices.

DTC is pleased to be partnering with the TCA through the National Security Technology Alliance, which launched earlier this year. The NSTA is a nation-building initiative designed to connect Australia’s deep tech and national security communities to deliver strategic advantage and promote trusted collaboration between tech companies and the Commonwealth. It aims to break down silos, reduce barriers to entry for innovative SMEs, and support the translation of home-grown tech into critical national capabilities.

“Strengthening Australia’s national security means ensuring we have a fit-for-purpose innovation pipeline – one that enables our brightest minds and most capable businesses to connect with defence and national security customers,” said Libby Day. “It’s fantastic to see industry and government aligning through the NSTA to drive that shared goal.”

The DTC looks forward to continuing its partnership with the Tech Council of Australia and contributing to the success of the National Security Technology Alliance.

We encourage members to learn more and explore opportunities to get involved.
