The 2023 Defence Industry Dinner & Awards Ceremony is being labeled as the one of the best Award nights by members of Australia's defence industry.
Held at the Adelaide Convention Centre on Thursday 23 November, over 600 people from around Australia attend our most prestigious night of the year and celebrated the many achievements of DTC members and the wider defence industry community.
The overarching themes of the event were resilience and collaboration, with the keynote speaker and the guest speakers sharing real-world experiences on the impact resilience and collaboration have had in resolving complex issues. The keynote speaker of the evening, Dr Richard Harris SC OAM, received a standing ovation for his inspirational story on the 2018 Thailand cave rescue and the hurdles, which included questioning his moral values, he and the team had to go through to save the 12 children and their assistant soccer coach.
Thank you to everyone who joined us in celebrating our sectors successes and a special thank you to everyone who donated to See Differently OPK9, our event charity partner. Thanks to your generous donations, we raised $38,000. These funds will go towards training the very valuable assistance dogs who help to improve the quality of life for our veterans and provide them with a pathway to recovery from their PTSD.
