Indigenous Procurement Policy Training
16 August @ 9:00 am to 12:30 pm
The Defence Teaming Centre has collaborated with ODIS and AIC to provide businesses working in the defence sector with a half day training session on the Indigenous Procurement Policy.
The primary purpose of the policy is to stimulate Indigenous entrepreneurship and provide more opportunities for Indigenous Australians to participate in the economy. The Australian Government sets mandatory minimum requirements (MMRs) to support their participation in the delivery of high-value Commonwealth contracts.
Defence, has the largest portfolio of Commonwealth contracts and generally requires 4% Indigenous participation, however, this is flexible depending on how suppliers choose to set their target. Targets can be set against employment, the contract itself or their organisations Australian footprint.
The Indigenous Procurement Policy training session will help businesses establish their procurement plan and offer practical businesses advice in how to best meet this requirement. The session will go through:
- AIC Plans – when they apply, what information is required,
- Indigenous Participation Plans – when they apply, what information is required, and
- How the two plans interact.
There are limited spots available, book now to avoid disappointment. Morning tea will be supplied.
