2025 Defence Industry Leadership Program Application

The Defence Industry Leadership Program (DILP) is a hands-on personal and professional leadership development program which has played an integral role in developing the next generation of defence industry leaders for over a decade.

Through experiential learning, participants of this unique defence industry focused leadership program will learn to effectively manage multi-party collaborations and understand the complexity of the defence sector.

The nine-month leadership program is delivered by Defence Teaming Centre (DTC) and a range of industry experts in partnership with Skills Lab, a nationally recognised training institute (RTO).

The course provides a safe, professional workshop environment for the cohort to learn, share ideas and build lasting relationships within the cohort, and with industry leaders. Participants will also work in syndicates to undertake a research project based on current issues facing defence industry.

Participants graduate with a nationally accredited Diploma in Leadership and Management as well as a lifelong membership of the DILP Alumni.

For further details regarding the course structure, please refer to the DTC website.

Who is it for?

DILP is the only immersive Defence industry leadership program of its kind in Australia, tailored for emerging leaders aiming to deepen their understanding and strengthen their connections within the Defence sector. The program is built on four core pillars: self, organisation, industry, and community. These pillars offer a structured approach to developing a comprehensive leadership skillset through self-awareness, relationship building, innovation, teamwork, and mentoring.

Participants in DILP come from diverse backgrounds, bringing a wealth of qualifications and experiences. This diversity fosters a rich exchange of knowledge, ideas, and perspectives, leading to a well-rounded, open-minded, and synergistic approach to leadership and management.

Over the past 14 years, the effectiveness of the program has been proven by the success of its alumni, who have advanced to significant leadership and management positions within the defence industry.
