Shaping a Stronger Defence Industry

DTC Unveils Bold Three-Year Strategy to Advance South Australia’s Defence Industry

The Defence Teaming Centre (DTC) officially launched a bold new three-year strategy on July 1, 2025, setting a clear course to strengthen South Australia's position as a national leader in the defence industry.

Designed to be future-focused and outcome-driven, the strategy outlines a framework for growth, innovation, and collaboration—locally, nationally, and globally. DTC CEO Libby Day described it as a “bold, future-focused plan that positions South Australia at the heart of a thriving, sustainable Defence Industry.”

The 2025–2028 strategy focuses on five core priorities:

- Strengthening connections across Australia and with global partners to support AUKUS and international initiatives
- Growing a robust and balanced mid-tier sector to foster innovation and competition
- Championing workforce, skills, and industry development to meet future capability needs
- Amplifying member voices in national policy discussions
- Evolving DTC membership to deliver greater value to stakeholders

Work is already underway on the 2025–2026 deliverables, with more detail to be released in the coming weeks.

In a major boost to the strategy’s momentum, the South Australian Government reaffirmed its support for the DTC in the June State Budget, extending funding for a further four years. “This is a significant endorsement,” said Libby, “and one that will help us continue delivering real, measurable outcomes for our members.”

Over the coming months, DTC will engage with its membership to bring the strategy to life and ensure alignment with industry needs.

Members are encouraged to explore the strategy and share their feedback directly with Libby Day via libby.day@dtc.org.au.

“As we look to the future, one thing is clear—South Australia is leading the way in building the future of Australia’s Defence Industry,” Libby said.
