Aidan Fisher - Kardia Compliance Solutions – specialists in US, UK and EU export controls
Aidan is the Lead Consultant at Kardia Compliance Solutions, an Adelaide‑based consultancy supporting Australian defence and defence‑adjacent organisations to embed compliance‑by‑design trade control frameworks. His work enables clients to integrate seamlessly into US, UK and other international defence supply chains with confidence. With more than a decade of experience across Defence and defence industry, Aidan has contributed to some of Australia’s most significant and complex programs, including the nuclear‑powered submarine program and the Attack‑Class submarine program. Prior to founding Kardia, he led the Australian Government team responsible for export controls for AUKUS Pillar I, where he established the governance frameworks and enabling systems required to facilitate industry participation under AUKUS. Beyond his consulting practice, Aidan serves as Secretary of the Board of Directors for the Export Controls Australia Group, a not‑for‑profit organisation focused on strengthening Australia’s strategic trade capability through policy engagement, professional development, knowledge sharing, and international collaboration. Aidan also lectures at Adelaide University, teaching export control and trade sanctions law, alongside the practical implementation and management of export control frameworks.
Ben Harvey - SAHR – experts in export controls, procurement and finance
Ben brings more than a decade of experience across the Australian defence industry, with a career spanning government, the Australian Defence Force (as a reservist), and the full breadth of private industry—from Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) through to major defence Primes.
He has played key roles in treaty negotiations, policy development, and the large‑scale implementation of compliance frameworks, building deep specialist expertise in export controls across software development, infrastructure, manufacturing, and ICT management. At SAHR, Ben is the Industry Manager – Technology & Export Controls, where he leads SAHR’s industry engagement efforts and serves as a trusted subject matter expert to clients. He works closely with organisations to navigate complex regulatory environments and deliver practical, compliant solutions.
SAHR is an Australian veteran‑owned consulting firm with a national footprint, providing Technology & Export Controls services to defence industry clients—from SMEs to Primes—as well as the Department of Defence, including CASG, DDG, GWEOG and JCG. SAHR’s Technology & Export Controls team comprises more than a dozen consultants, collectively bringing over 100 years of experience in export controls management across Defence and defence industry, both in Australia and internationally.
