Mr Allan Dundas is the founder, Chair and Chief Executive Officer of DEWC Services Pty Ltd, a rapidly growing Australian defence capability company based in South Australia with over 100 staff. He is an accomplished company director, business leader, engineer and proud Australian Defence Force (ADF) Veteran.

Allan has over 30 years of experience in national defence, having served in uniform, civilian and industry roles. He commenced his career with the Royal Australian Air Force in 1990 at the age of 17 and holds a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering with First Class Honours from UNSW awarded at the Australian Defence Force Academy. He also holds master’s degrees in systems engineering and business administration, is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a Fellow of Engineers Australia.

Allan founded DEWC in 2012 with a passion for delivering excellence in Electronic Warfare (EW), Intelligence and Cyber expertise to Defence. Under his leadership, DEWC Services is currently actively contributing to Australia’s sovereign capability in emerging critical technologies. These include the maturation of trusted and scalable Artificial Intelligence (AI) Platforms for Defence, development of cyber situational awareness tools for Defence and advancement of Guided Weapons and Explosive Ordnance (GWEO) distribution and modelling enterprise tools.

Since 2018, Allan has also served as the Chair of the School of Information Operations (SOIO) Pty Ltd, an Australian company focussed on supporting Defence Capability through provision of specialist training services. Since 2019, SOIO has conducted over 40 courses per year to introduce systems and operational concepts for the underlying foundational understanding of Australian Government Sovereign Industrial Capability Priorities. Allan was a co-founder of SOIO in 2018.

From Jan 2018 to Jan 2024 Allan was also the Chair of Asension Pty Ltd, an Australian innovative technology company that developed advanced systems to intelligently sense, collect and bind information in sensor fusion. Asension collaborated with Defence on research and development of a low-cost constellation of miniaturised EW payloads in low Earth orbit to support agile Defence operations. Allan was a co-founder of Asension in 2018.

Allan also serves on the board of the Australian Chapter of the AOC, the peak professional association for the EW community in Australia. Allan has held a position on the AOC Board of Directors for 20 years since being elected in 2005. As a board member, Allan helps shape and develop the EW ecosystem in Australia and has provided input through the AOC to various defence reviews on the EW industry.

Allan is highly regarded in the Australian Defence community as an EW subject matter expert, accomplished leader, and advocate for Defence capability. For several decades, Allan has successfully led specialist teams in capability definition, acquisition, implementation, and operational support of critical capabilities for Defence. Allan has also provided thought leadership through presenting at numerous conferences and forums including the Australian AOC Conference in 2016, 2018, 2022, 2023, 2024, the Australian Signals Intelligence Conference in 2014, 2015, 2017 and the Safeguarding Australia Summit in 2025.

As an ADF Veteran, Allan is passionate about protecting Australian Sovereign interests and ensuring the ADF has the right support and capabilities to operate safely and effectively. Allan serves on the board of the Defence Teaming Centre (DTC) so he can help support our Defence Industry to rise the challenge of an increasingly unstable geopolitical environment.

Allan was elected to the board in October 2024.
