Leadership takes on a multitude of dimensions and businesses have a strong focus on leadership as a vital concept necessary for success.
As outlined in the 2016 Defence White Paper, the Australian Government is undertaking the largest single rebalance of the Defence workforce in a generation. Part of this will fall on primes and SMEs to ensure they are ready to help the Defence meet its goals, including assisting in building a more durable supply chain arrangement and strengthened sovereign industrial capabilities to enhance the Australian Defence Forces’ self-reliance.
This requires primes and SMEs to have strong leaders at the ready to ensure a successful journey through the increasing complex defence environment, and one way to develop strong leadership skills is by completing a leadership program.
The Defence Industry Leadership Program (DILP) is an 9-month hands on professional development program that provides employees in the defence industry with personal and professional leadership skills. The course is $9,400 ex GST for SA members or $10,450 ex GST for SA non-members.
Is DILP worth $9,400?
In short, yes. The program is valued at over $17,000 and we offer the program to DTC members for only $9,400 ex GST. As a participant of the program there are several exclusive benefits, including a free virtual learning platform participants will have access to for life, a workshop session with the Minister for Defence Industry and two planned overnight field trips to the Woodside Barracks and to the RAAF Base at Edinburgh.
What makes DILP different to other leadership programs?
- The program is focused specifically on leadership in the defence industry and combines learning workshops, presentations from senior Defence/industry specialists, infrastructure visits and is an opportunity for program participants to build highly valuable industry relationships.
- The Skills Lab, part of the SAGE Group of companies, is the accredited body of the program, and they have over a 10-year history in providing successful defence solutions.
DILP experience reaches well beyond the classroom
The defence industry networks, both state-wide and nationally, to which participants gain access to is invaluable throughout their career. The DILP Alumni Program helps participants maintain their peer-to-peer relationships and create a broad community of defence industry leaders all around Australia. This gives participants the opportunity to continue to get support from their peers, as well as greater exposure to different perspectives and solutions.
